Last week on Thursday, finally we got to see the last part of the adventures of Harry Potter. We, and a lot of people with us, were waiting for it for a very long time, because the book has been out for almost two years. Growing up with our first copy of Harry potter when we were at the age of eleven, harry has grown with us. Al of a sudden he wasn’t the cute little boy with the disgusting haircut anymore. But harry hasn’t changed as much as his BFF’s Ron and Hermoine, because especially Ron is now a full grown man, and very masculine, some might say he became hot!
Whoever has read the book knows that the last book is not so much of a childrensbook anymore. People get killed all the time and the atmosphere is really depressing. So is the movie also. The characters we have known for years now, really developed and the acting has become better in every movie, and gets to great heights in the deathly hallows. What happened in the movies that were before this one, is that people died but it seemed like no one really cared about it. This has changed a lot. Ron is really worried about his family and Hermoine spelled her parents so they don’t know that they have a daughter anymore. Even harry, who has the uncle and aunt from hell, takes care about them and forces them to move and be safe somewhere else.
The movie shows that though the story’s of harry potter are not very realistic, the feelings they have are. Everybody can identify with some part of a character or some things that happen, and that is what makes this movie different than the other harry potter movies. You can tell they have finally grown up, and they deal with the same problems that we in daily life also deal with. Being in love with people, taking care or worrying about your family, jealousy and angriness, we have all been there and finally, so are they. A small review about the main characters in this final movie.
Harry.
Harry still is fighting inside with himself, he feels guilty that people are in danger only to protect him, but on the other hand he is arrogant enough to feel that he is the one that has to end this whole situation.
Hermoine.
Hermoine is still the smartest one, but she is not so annoying anymore. She realized very well that they are almost about to die, and takes things very serious. On the other hand she struggles with her feelings for Ron, and she has a very hard time when Harry and Ron get in a fight.
Ron.
Ron is ironic as always, and he takes care of the humor when they are travelling around with the three of them. Ron was always the one that was the least good in spells and stuff like that, but in fact he really isn’t, it’s just his feeling that he always has to be with the great harry potter. Ron also is confused because of his feelings for Hermoine, and always thinks that she likes harry more.
Voldemort.
This is the first part when we can actually see Voldemort acting and saying more than a few sentences, and he does it really convincing. The people around him are a bit afraid of him, except for Bellatrix, and you can see that he also has emotions, which makes him even more scary, because you will never know what he is up to.
Draco.
Draco has developed himself in the books from an arrogant ass in the beginning, but in this part you get the feeling that in fact he is not so bad, but its more something like he is born in the wrong family. The whole family Malfoy is really afraid of Voldemort, but they know they cannot escape anymore once they got in. Draco has sympathy for harry at some point, and it saves there life’s when they get arrested. In the end of the book, which is Part Two of the movie, Ron saves Draco’s life, so they are even again. The acting of Draco is really good, and his character is really important in this movie, to show that people are not or bad or good, but that there is some sort of twilight.
Bellatrix.
Bellatrix is in that way the other side of Draco, because she characters the pure evil, and admires Voldemort. She is the only one that Voldemort has respect for, and her character is really strong.
Everything considered, this last movie is a masterpiece. The actors are very good, and even when you didn’t read the books you can still understand what it’s about. That was not always that way, for example in the 5th movie nobody understood what was going on. That is why I can understand that they split the movie in two parts, because the story is too big to be in one movie, and then the movie would not be half as good as it is now. The only bad thing, is that we have to wait for another 6 months, to finally end the Harry Potter era.
